Paignton Regatta gets cut short!

Sunday 8th August saw Dartmouth head over to local club Paignton ARC's Regatta, held just off of Paignton pier, with a 1km course heading south towards the harbour walls. Unfortunately, a strong offshore wind meant that the course was shortened down to 500m extremely quickly.

Once again, the DARC girls were front and centre representing the club and pushing on to get some more championship points! With a bad lane draw, they found themselves in the outside lane, being pushed further and further out to sea as they made their way down the course.

With Castledore and Bideford Reds hot on their tail, cox Nadine Smith used all her tactics to get the girls out ahead of the pack and pushed them until the bitter end of the race. Castledore crossed the line half a length down from DARC, with Reds finishing in 3rd.

The crew of Ellie Langman, Tess Preston, Ellie Malley, Lottie Cusack and cox Nadine Smith have now clocked up 9 points in the championship, starting to open up a lead over the other competing crews.

Massive thanks once again to our supporters that come over and cheered as loud as possible out to sea, Buster Hart for towing the boats, and captain Jo Langmead who kept the crew warm and fed all day.
